Guilty pleasures

We all have them – favourite songs we are ashamed to listen to in the presence of our friends, rubbish singles we bought years ago which we’ve since downloaded or bought on CD and still regularly listen to. These are mine, in no particular order:

1. Mr Blue Sky – ELO
2. Hold On – Wilson Phillips
3. Africa – Toto
4. Don’t Give Up On Us Baby – David Soul
5. The Logical Song – Supertramp
6. Spirit of Radio – Rush
7. China In Your Hand – T’Pau
8. From New York to LA – Patsy Gallant
9. Shang-A-Lang – The Bay City Rollers
10. Video Killed The Radio Star – Buggles

Classic stuff, eh?

  1. Nothing wrong with a bit of ELO – classic band and so to are Rush, Toto & Supertramp. Not so sure on the Bay City Rollers though 🙂

  2. Nothing wrong with a bit of ELO, a classic band. Rush and Toto two other damn fine bands.

#3 has to be a classic just on the grounds of the wonderfully unwieldly lines “I know that I must do what’s right/Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti”…

When we were young , Harris used to force us to listen to ELO , ’till we were brainwashed into liking it , kind of the Stockholm syndrome of the music world .lol,
