Greatest Christmas hits of the last 2000 years: No. 16

Wonderful Christmastime – Paul McCartney

MACCA has more than one claim for inclusion in anyone’s Christmas Top Ten (or 24): Pipes of Peace, The Frog Chorus, Mull of Kintyre. But this is his earliest and best Christmas-themed song. Not as good as Lennon’s festive effort, mind you.

Paul McCartney ? His talent for bland ballad tosh is second only to the master himself, Elton John.

Why did it have to be Lennon that was picked on ?

  5. Johnny – “Macca” is a nickname for Paul McCartney.

Jim – Sorry, mate, there’s another 14 of these to go! Come on, get with the spirit!
